Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
2/20/22
Did you know Las Vegas has a national park? Yes, Las Vegas has more than just the Casino strip!
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is located in Nevada’s Mojave Desert. There is a fee to enter the park or you can use your national park pass. You also need reservations depending when you go, so please check the website at Red Rock Canyon | Las Vegas, Nevada (redrockcanyonlv.org) before visiting.
This was my first time visiting this park and I was excited to go rock climbing!
It was only about a mile hike to our first climbing spot.
We were able to find it by seeing other climbers and chalk marks on the wall.
It is so good to be outdoor climbing again!
The park has 26 different hiking trails. For more info on the trails, please visit Hikes & Trails – Round-Trip Distances & Times | Red Rock Canyon Las Vegas (redrockcanyonlv.org).
Red Rock Canyon is a great nature escape if you’re looking for a break from the strip! Be sure to bring lots of water with you. The summer temperatures can be scorching hot. After all it is a desert!
